what terminal do you use? i've always used just teh default terminal that comes with a DE
i don't use a DE, i use DWM (witch i guess there is st) and i usually get alacrity. but my japanese input did not work on OpenBSD with it so i switch to kitty
st on dwm and kitty on xfce
kitty is nais
xterm most of the time
xterm, but lately I am thinking I should patch yaftx to support true color + mouse support and switch to that.

I use urxvt and xterm. urxvt is basically a more customizable version of xterm based on my experience
